Memoxia ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Memoxia mobile application and website at memoxia.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Data We Collect

Account Data

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from your identity provider. We do not store plaintext passwords for social sign-in.

User Content and Learning Data

We collect and store content you create in the app, such as vocabulary lists, words, translations, generated memory aids, and study progress (including review history, scheduling, and mastery state) so your data can sync across devices.

Usage, Diagnostics, and Device Data

We collect product interaction events (for example, screens viewed and feature usage), crash reports, performance diagnostics, and limited device/app metadata (for example, OS version, app version, and locale) to operate, monitor, and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide core app functionality and account access
  • Sync your learning data across devices
  • Generate AI-powered translations and memory aids
  • Detect, debug, and prevent service errors or abuse
  • Measure feature usage and improve product quality

We share data with service providers only as needed to run the Service, including:

  • Cloudflare for hosting and infrastructure
  • Apple and Google for sign-in
  • OpenAI for AI generation features (content you submit for generation is sent for processing)
  • Sentry for crash/error monitoring
  • OpenPanel for product analytics

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

5. Retention

We retain account and learning data while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete or de-identify personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law, security, fraud prevention, or backup recovery cycles.

6. Security

Your data is stored securely on Cloudflare infrastructure. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) to protect your data. The app also works offline — your data is cached locally on your device and synced when you reconnect.

7. International Transfers

  • Your data may be processed in countries other than your own through our providers.
  • Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Request export of your learning data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing where legally available
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent

9. Children's Privacy

Memoxia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
